Welcome to the Lions of District 39 E Home Page! District 39 E is located in
rural East Idaho that is made up of clubs from the cities and many small farming and ranching
communities. We serve areas from the scenic Yellowstone and Teton National
Parks, through steep mountains, valleys and rivers that Lewis and Clark
traveled and across the Snake River Plains and mountains along the old Oregon
and California trails.
Lions Club International was founded by Melvin Jones in Chicago, Illinois on
June 7, 1917. At their convention in 1925, Helen Keller charged the Lions Club
the following:
"Will you not constitute yourselves Knights of the Blind in this crusade
against darkness?"
Since then, the Lions Club has taken Sight Conservation as one of its main
goals. In addition, the motto of the Lions Club is "We Serve". From
this motto, Lions Clubs serve their communities in many different functions
from community service projects, fund raisers, sight and hearing conservation
and screenings, and many more activities.
We are looking for any person willing to serve their communities in a variety
of functions. Are you interested in becoming a member? To learn more what it
